Description
Additionality Program ERDF 2021–2027: Research and Development Competence Centers supports collaborative projects in Burgenland between the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland and selected research institutions such as Forschung Burgenland GmbH, Joanneum Research GmbH, and Wirtschaftsagentur Burgenland Forschung & Innovations GmbH. The goal is the systematic development of sustainable networks, the implementation of joint R&D projects, as well as the creation and expansion of research-relevant infrastructures. With a total budget of up to €2 million, the program provides non-repayable grants for personnel, direct project-related material costs, indirect overhead costs, travel expenses, and depreciation. Excluded are non-project-related expenses, reserves, imputed costs, or subcontracts without added value.
Eligible for funding are educational institutions, non-profit organizations, and companies with headquarters or operational scope in Burgenland. A project proposal, a cost and financing plan, and proof of legal sponsorship must be submitted. Selection is based on criteria such as contribution to the overarching strategy, scientific relevance, management competence, employment impact in the R&D sector, and potential for economic exploitation. Applications can be submitted at any time between 01.01.2021 and 31.12.2030 to Department 9 of the Office of the Burgenland Provincial Government. In the final evaluation, the risk-benefit ratio and the coherence of the research question and resource allocation determine the funding decision. This program is aimed at stakeholders seeking a long-term strengthening of the research landscape in Burgenland.
