Description

The EU funding call “Addressing disabilities through the life course to support independent living and inclusion” targets companies, non-profit organizations, public authorities, and educational institutions from all EU Member States and associated countries. It supports research and innovation projects in the fields of health, research & innovation, as well as work & social affairs, which explore new approaches to the prevention, rehabilitation, and development of barrier-free assistive systems and community-based support structures. The objective is to empower people with long-term physical, mental, intellectual, or sensory impairments across all age groups to live independently and participate in social life. Projects must cover at least three of the following areas: research into causes of health-related disabilities, self-determined transitions from childhood to adulthood, access to rehabilitation services, life-course-specific prevention, mechanisms for successful deinstitutionalization, and innovative, person-centered care models. Participants must engage in an open market consultation and competitive tendering process and meet the eligibility criteria regarding financial and operational capacity.

The funding rate is 100% for a project duration of up to 36 months, with a maximum total budget of €39.3 million. Application documents include a detailed project description, a comprehensive budget plan, and CVs of key personnel; costs for personnel, materials, subcontracting, and travel expenses are eligible. Applications must be submitted electronically by April 13, 2027, 17:00 CEST. Evaluation is based on the criteria of innovation content, scientific relevance, as well as quality and efficiency of implementation. Selected projects will undergo a multi-stage evaluation and receive a written funding commitment upon positive review. Interested consortia are encouraged to strengthen dialogue with relevant stakeholders and policymakers to create sustainable synergies and increase the visibility of project results.
