Description
The Agricultural Investment Promotion Program (AFP) Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is aimed at small and medium-sized agricultural enterprises (SMEs) that generate at least 25% of their turnover from the production of plant or animal products and meet the statutory minimum size according to the Law on the Old-Age Security of Farmers. With funds from the Joint Task for Agricultural Structure and Coastal Protection (GAK) and the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD), the AFP supports competitive, multifunctional, and particularly environmentally, climate- and animal-friendly farms. Eligible investments include, among others, durable assets, structural measures to optimize animal husbandry conditions, frost and water protection facilities, as well as environmental and climate protection measures. Accompanying services such as architectural, engineering, or feasibility studies are also co-financed.
Expenditures are eligible for funding up to a grant rate of 65%, in individual cases (environmental and climate-specific measures) up to 65%, and young farmers receive an additional bonus of 10%, up to a maximum of €20,000. The maximum funding amount is €1,000,000 per enterprise. Required documents include, among others, an investment concept, supervisor’s report, proof of overall financing, at least three written cost estimates, and necessary official permits. Applications are processed electronically by the State Office for Agriculture and Environment West Mecklenburg on the cut-off dates of March 31, June 30, September 30, and November 30 each year. The program runs from January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2027, enabling sustainable modernization of agricultural enterprises in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
