Description
The program offers public research institutions and educational providers throughout Austria a predictable grant funding totaling €201.69 million for the period from 01.01.2024 to 31.12.2026. Eligible for funding are particularly the Austrian Institute of Technology as well as other innovation actors who enter into a performance agreement in accordance with FoFinaG. The maximum project duration is 36 months, within which the necessary public funds are provided to achieve defined RTI objectives. This funding aims to create a sustainable foundation for research and innovation to secure the performance and future viability of the Austrian research landscape.
Funding objective is to increase the research, technology, and innovation intensity (RTI intensity) in the corporate sector. This includes the development of modern, efficient, and secure infrastructure technologies to address major societal challenges as well as increasing the proportion of employees in technology and innovation – with a special focus on promoting women. By strategically equipping research institutions with public funds, Austria’s innovation engine is strengthened, skilled professionals are secured in the long term, and expertise within the country is expanded.
