Description

The Academy of the Kinder-Hospiz Sternenbrücke Foundation in Hamburg offers a continuous training and further education program specifically aimed at optimizing the care and support of children, adolescents, and young adults with life-limiting illnesses, as well as their families. As a non-material sponsorship, the funding is directed at medical professionals, health and (pediatric) nursing staff, psychosocial workers, and volunteers in the children's hospice sector, as well as affected parents, relatives, and other interested parties. With a broad annual program—including in-person and online seminars, themed evenings, and practice-oriented workshops—the Academy imparts current expert knowledge, promotes interdisciplinary exchange, and strengthens understanding of the complex challenges in pediatric palliative care.

Eligible for funding are individuals and educational institutions who can easily secure places in the events during ongoing application. The offering includes basic training for volunteers, part-time further education according to an accredited curriculum, as well as specialized seminars on pain relief, biography work, or self-care. Through regular peer-level exchange, a network is created that sustainably supports all participants. Interested parties register informally and benefit from a certificate of attendance or certification upon course completion. Those wishing to qualify for engagement in hospice and palliative care will find here a professionally sound and empathetically guided training with direct practical relevance and high acceptance within the healthcare sector.
