Description
The program Active for Democracy and Against Inhumanity in Hamburg supports low-threshold projects that contribute to greater tolerance and respectful coexistence. The focus is on measures to prevent and combat right-wing extremism, religiously motivated extremism, and group-related inhumanity. Funding is provided to initiatives, associations, federations, migrant organizations, small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as individuals who develop participatory formats to strengthen democratic processes and promote the experience of equality and self-efficacy in civil society. Preventive approaches that raise public awareness and enable encounters between diverse population groups are of particular importance.
Eligible to apply are organizations and individuals with a residential or operational focus in Hamburg. The project may only commence after approval, and full social data protection must be ensured. The funding amount is up to €5,000 per year with a funding rate of 90%, requiring a 10% own contribution. Required are an application in accordance with the funding guidelines, a detailed project description, as well as cost estimates with a financing plan. Applications must be submitted no later than two months before the start of the measures. Selection is based on criteria such as effectiveness, sustainability, participatory character, and preventive approach against extremism.
