Description

The Alexandra Lang Youth Art Award Rhineland-Palatinate is aimed at artistically gifted students from grades 8 to 12 who reside or attend school in Rhineland-Palatinate. This biennial competition honors artistic talent and creativity, assessed based on the quality of the submitted art portfolio as well as individual expressiveness. Nominations are made by art teachers or youth art schools, but independent applications are also possible. An independent expert jury selects the eleven most outstanding entries from all submissions and thus decides on participation in the exclusive art camp. The portfolio allows free choice of subject and may include drawings, paintings, photography, graphics, or sculpture designs to accommodate diverse artistic interests.

As a prize, the selected participants receive a free invitation to the multi-day “Creation Days” at a country estate in the Hunsrück region, where they experience intensive practical sessions under the guidance of art professionals, design students, and experienced instructors. The seminar promotes exchange with like-minded peers, provides insights into creative professions, and imparts valuable information on study opportunities. After the jury decision, all portfolios along with individual feedback are conveniently returned. The next application deadline for the Creation Days 2026 will be announced as part of the 2026 call. The only application document required is the art portfolio; there is no participation fee. This funding award from the ALISA Foundation supports young talents, opens networking opportunities, and provides impetus for future artistic careers.
