General Scientific Promotion Lower Austria - Funding of Annual Programs (including R&D) and Other Support

The General Science Promotion of Lower Austria annually provides material grants to support publication series as well as other scientific activities of local organizations and individuals. Projects with a clear connection to Lower Austria that make a significant contribution to research, innovation, and tertiary education are funded. Eligible applicants include private individuals, educational institutions, non-profit organizations, companies, cooperatives, foundations, as well as start-ups and public institutions. A special focus is placed on publication series and other scientific projects that are implemented in accordance with the objectives of the Lower Austria Cultural Promotion Act and the FTI strategy of the state. Since this is an ongoing funding opportunity, applications can be submitted at any time and are decided upon after reviewing the available funds.

A fully completed and personally signed form is required for submission. In addition, a detailed project description, a comparison of income and expenses (including a financing plan), and proof of legal form must be provided. A significant connection to Lower Austria of the project or the applicants must be demonstrated through location, implementation, or thematic anchoring. Input tax for VAT-liable items is not eligible for funding. The Department of Science and Research at the Office of the Lower Austria State Government coordinates the processing, with no legal entitlement to approval. Through transparent presentation of the funding conditions and procedures, a sustainable and targeted implementation of the supported projects is ensured.
