Description
The “General Construction Industry” funding is aimed at Lower Austrian municipalities as well as municipal associations and supports small projects of municipal infrastructure with a non-repayable grant of up to 15% of the total costs, but no more than €22,500 per project. Eligible projects include, among others, new construction, expansion, conversion, and renovation of municipal offices, sports and recreational facilities, libraries, fire stations, cultural and event centers, or public compulsory schools. The goal is to advance municipal infrastructure measures while simultaneously strengthening the Lower Austrian construction industry. Since applications can be submitted continuously, there is great planning security for timely implementation before construction begins.
Requirements include exclusive application submission by Lower Austrian municipalities or municipal associations and timely submission before construction starts. The application process is conducted electronically via the online form of the General Construction Service Department (BD1) of the Lower Austrian State Government or in writing by email. Required documents include, among others, information about the grant recipient, a detailed project description with plan illustrations, a resolution of the municipal council, a financing plan, as well as cost estimates and evidence related to the investment project. Funding can be applied for from September 23, 2025, until December 31, 2026. This measure stimulates practice-oriented infrastructure projects at the municipal level and sustainably promotes the regional construction industry.
