General Energy Funding

The General Energy Promotion Program in Upper Austria supports projects that contribute to the implementation of the Upper Austria Energy Strategy 2030 and open up perspectives until 2050. Measures to increase energy efficiency, expand renewable energies, and ensure supply security and quality are funded. Additionally, the program aims to maintain the competitiveness of Upper Austrian companies and private households, as well as to promote innovation, research, and location development. Applications can be submitted year-round to the Department of Environmental Protection. The only funding requirement is that applicants are based in Upper Austria – regardless of whether they are companies, associations, public institutions, non-profit organizations, or private individuals.

The state funding is granted as a subsidy and is aligned with international, European, and national frameworks as well as the specific economic structure of the region. This financial support accelerates technology transfers and facilitates investments in energy-efficient solutions. The Department of Environmental Protection of the Office of the Upper Austrian State Government serves as the central contact point for environmental impact assessments, laboratory and monitoring services, and provides practical funding concepts. After the complete submission of all required documents, the disbursement of the approved funds is carried out smoothly and transparently. This offer is aimed at all natural and legal persons located in Upper Austria and provides an attractive opportunity to advance sustainable energy projects.
