Funding objective
This program aims to anchor the objectives of Upper Austria's energy strategy – promoting energy efficiency and renewable energy, ensuring the highest possible supply security and quality, maintaining the competitiveness of Upper Austrian businesses and households, as well as supporting innovation, location development, and research & development – by 2030 and to create perspectives through 2050. In doing so, international, European, and national framework conditions, as well as Upper Austria's production-intensive economic structure and necessary technological leaps, are taken into account.

Description
General Energy Funding Upper Austria continuously offers grants for the implementation of key directives of Upper Austria's energy strategy. The focus is on energy efficiency, renewable energies, and innovation promotion to strengthen supply security and competitiveness. The program anchors goals until 2030 such as highest energy efficiency, expansion of renewable energy sources, promotion of research & development, as well as location development, taking into account international, European, and national frameworks. Perspectives until 2050 are to be secured through necessary technological leaps and a production-intensive economic structure. The funding thus contributes to climate protection and the future viability of the economic and household sectors in Upper Austria. Applications have been possible without limitation since 01.05.2018.
Eligible applicants include both natural and legal persons, including commercial enterprises, associations, religious institutions, municipalities, as well as other organizations and interest groups. A prerequisite is the recognition and compliance with the current environmental funding guidelines and the General Funding Guidelines of the State of Upper Austria. There is no legal entitlement to funding. Proof of funding and complete documentation must be submitted in writing to the Department of Environmental Protection; further documents will be provided upon request. Through simple application procedures, the program enables a broad range of actors to efficiently implement energy and climate protection-related projects and to set long-term impulses for a sustainable energy future in Upper Austria.
