Description
The General Tourism Promotion in Carinthia supports public institutions, companies, as well as interest groups and other associations in the implementation of individual measures and projects with a clear tourism focus. The goal is to strengthen and secure tourism in the long term through quality and infrastructural improvements in line with the tourism strategy and the Carinthia Tourism Brand 2025+. Funding is provided for innovative networks, booking-relevant events, infrastructure investments, and quality-enhancing initiatives – especially those with potential to extend the season, tap into new guest target groups, and increase added value. The funding is granted as a non-repayable subsidy, which typically covers up to 30% of eligible expenses. The application deadline begins on August 1, 2025, and is open-ended, allowing interested parties to submit applications at any time.
Eligible to apply are tourism organizations as defined by the Carinthian Tourism Act, municipalities, as well as commercial and non-commercial companies and associations. A prerequisite for approval includes, among other things, a detailed project description specifying start and completion dates, a detailed financing plan breaking down total costs and own as well as external funds, and proof of location and amount of the requested public funding. Non-eligible costs include personnel expenses, ongoing operating costs, financing costs, leasing investments, and invoice amounts under €50. Selection is based on the criteria of tourism relevance, sustainability aspects, as well as infrastructure and quality improvements. The requested funding aims to provide an additional impetus for sustainable tourism development in Carinthia.
