Description

The General Music Promotion of the State of Lower Austria continuously supports the musical culture in the region. Funding is provided, among other things, for composition commissions for Lower Austrian composers as well as the awarding of recognition and appreciation prizes on a biennial basis. Concert series, masterclasses, training opportunities, and competitions receive financial subsidies granted through a transparent application process. The focus is on the qualitative and cultural significance of the project and its impact far beyond the state borders. Participants from the fields of culture, music, and culture & media benefit from the possibility to submit projects at any time and implement them flexibly.

Eligible for funding are private individuals, non-profit organizations, companies, and public institutions with their main residence or headquarters in Lower Austria or with project implementation in the federal state. Acoustic equipment for rehearsal rooms for wind music can be subsidized with amounts up to €50,000, provided that technical requirements—such as minimum room height and room size—are met. Evaluation criteria include the contribution to the objectives of the Lower Austrian Cultural Promotion Act, professional quality, and compliance with technical standards. Application documents include a completed form, a detailed project budget, a financing plan, and an acoustic report from a sworn civil engineer. This comprehensive funding equally strengthens composers, organizers, and developers and contributes to the sustainable development of Lower Austria’s musical culture.
