Description

As part of the alternative energy promotion in Carinthia, one-time construction cost subsidies of 50% of the eligible investment costs for stationary electricity storage systems combined with photovoltaic systems are available to private and public institutions as well as agricultural enterprises, companies, and non-profit associations. Storage solutions with up to 10 kWh nominal capacity per site are funded – a maximum of €350/kWh and up to €3,500 per facility. The goal is to optimize self-consumption of solar power and ensure predominant self-use. Lead-acid batteries are excluded from funding. The initiative actively contributes to climate protection and strengthens the local energy transition.

Prerequisites for approval include, among others, installation by a qualified company, a ten-year system warranty, and compliance with the energy funding guidelines of the state of Carinthia. A commissioning protocol or a grid access contract as well as the metering point designation are required in cases of partial feed-in. Only one storage system per photovoltaic system and building can be funded. Applications must be submitted after completion of the installation – an exception applies if the de minimis threshold is exceeded before the start of the work. All documents must be submitted within two years of the application date. Only investment costs for electrical components are eligible for funding; planning and consulting costs as well as lead-acid batteries are not subsidizable. For the application, the fully completed funding form, the acceptance protocol, original invoices with proof of payment, and a copy of the commissioning notification or grid connection contract must be submitted. No fees are charged for the application; payment is made after confirmation of completeness and is budget-dependent. Inspections are conducted on-site at random.
