  6. For small garden houses: excerpt from the land register or lease agreement
  7. For measures requiring building permits: building permit or building notification including submission plan
  8. For bathroom renovations: cost estimates/invoices with confirmation of age-appropriate, barrier-free execution according to ÖNORM B 1600
  9. For disability lifts: copy of the completion notification submitted to the building authority with receipt stamp and positive report on the acceptance inspection according to the Vienna Elevator Act

Description

The program in Vienna supports age-appropriate and barrier-free renovations in apartments, owner-occupied homes, and allotment garden houses with an investment grant of 35% of the eligible costs, up to a maximum of €4,200. The goal is to increase living comfort and safety in old age through structural adaptations such as bathroom renovations, access improvements, ramps, lifting aids, as well as the installation of stairlifts and inclined elevators according to ÖNORM B 1600. The program is aimed at private individuals aged 60 and over who have their main residence in Vienna. Free initial consultation at the Housing Improvement Info Point ensures professional planning before extensive measures are implemented.

Eligible applicants are tenants, owners, and lessees of allotment garden houses with a living area between 22 m² and 150 m² and renovation costs starting from €3,000. Additionally, an income limit applies according to § 11 WWFSG 1989. Own labor and pure material costs are not funded. For applications submitted by December 31, 2025, among other documents, proof of the mandatory consultation, current household income overview, consent declarations from property owners or Wiener Wohnen, land register excerpts or lease agreements, as well as building permits and detailed cost estimates if necessary, must be provided. Thus, the funding offer sustainably contributes to barrier-free living conditions for seniors in Vienna.
