Description
The state of Vorarlberg supports graduates of regular diploma and master's programs as well as doctoral studies with a thematic or personal connection to the region through a purchase subsidy. Theses that are closely oriented to Vorarlberg in content or authorship and have been graded "Very Good" (or alternatively "Good" for dissertations) are eligible for funding. Submissions are possible at any time after completion of studies, but no later than one year after the completion date. The purchase results in the permanent provision of a copy in the state library and honors outstanding scientific achievements as an impetus for research and innovation locally.
Prerequisites for a positive funding decision, in addition to the completed examination, include a topic from the state thematic exchange or an equivalent Vorarlberg-specific research field. For dissertations, a regional connection in topic or person is sufficient. Eligible expenses include the purchase of the thesis itself as well as extraordinary production costs, such as postage. Literary procurement, travel, or technical equipment costs are not eligible. The funding amount ranges between €300 and €500 per thesis. Application documents include the fully completed form, a copy of the thesis, and a transcript. Evaluation is based on thematic criteria and grading scale. With this support, the state of Vorarlberg specifically promotes young scientists and the research landscape in the region.
