Description

With the funding program apfelblau – Ideas That Bear Fruit, the Heinrich-Dammann Foundation provides nonprofit organizations, interest groups, associations, and educational institutions in Lower Saxony with seven proven project templates for creative youth initiatives. The goal is to actively involve young people aged 12 to 27 in rural areas and to jointly implement projects in the fields of education, sports, art, culture, and sustainability. The blueprints cover a wide range of topics, from community gardens and experiential team-building activities to upcycling workshops. Each template offers a budget of up to €500 and can be applied for independently of the regular application cycles at any time with a four-week notice before the project start. This creates financial flexibility for participatory ideas, promotes networking among youth work providers, and sets regional impulses for forward-looking youth work.

All expenses that directly serve the project purpose are eligible for funding, such as project materials, event, and travel costs. Infrastructure measures, construction investments, software, or equipment are excluded. A complete application is submitted via the foundation’s online form and includes, among other things, a brief description, a detailed concept, a cost and financing plan, as well as proof of nonprofit status. Particular evaluation criteria include youth participation, networking among youth organizations, contribution to youth work in rural areas, and a clear connection to Lower Saxony. With a funding rate of 100%, apfelblau supports committed groups and organizations in setting sustainable impulses in regional youth development.
