Description
Within the framework of the initiative "Broadband Austria 2030: Access and OpenNet," the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG), as the contractually appointed processing agency for the Federal Ministry of Finance, assumes the central administrative services for companies in the Vienna region. These include the review and awarding of funding applications, the conclusion, as well as the ongoing monitoring of funding contracts. The basis is the conclusion of a framework agreement between the federal government and the FFG in accordance with § 5 of the Research Promotion Agency Act. The goal is an efficient and transparent handling of all administrative grants with a total volume of €9.1 million, which can be applied for until the funds are fully utilized. The funding measures support the digitization and infrastructure objectives of the Broadband Strategy 2030 by enabling a smooth funding process and legally secure contract control.
Companies from the digitization and infrastructure sector can submit applications continuously as long as the budget is available. Only administrative processing costs incurred under the special guidelines BBA2030:Access and BBA2030:OpenNet are eligible for funding. The measures contribute to advancing nationwide coverage with symmetrical gigabit network access by the end of 2030 and promote the use of the infrastructure. This grant supports the implementation of the broadband strategy at the federal level by consolidating the administration and control of funds through the FFG as an experienced funding agency and ensuring professional support throughout the entire project period.
