Description
This funding under the EU Recovery and Resilience Facility (NextGenerationEU) aims to strengthen Viennese town centers as vibrant hubs through thermal renovations and facade greening, while simultaneously making a significant contribution to decarbonization. Eligible applicants include entrepreneurial entities, associations, religious institutions, municipalities and cities, as well as private and municipal property owners, provided the property is located within the town center. By targeted installation of improved insulation, replacement of windows, and greening of facades, energy consumption can be noticeably reduced and the urban climate positively influenced. Additionally, de-sealing measures of parking spaces are supported when linked to greening efforts, thereby enhancing rainwater infiltration.
The grant is provided as a non-repayable subsidy, which can be applied for from January 1, 2022, until the budget is exhausted. A prerequisite is confirmation from the responsible municipality regarding the location within the town center, as well as the completed application form according to the specifications on Umweltfoerderung.at. The procedure is continuously open, allowing projects to be submitted flexibly and implemented quickly. This initiative not only reduces emissions but also improves the quality of stay in historic urban and municipal districts, thereby creating attractive, resilient, and climate-adapted town centers in the long term. Interested parties should submit all required documentation early to benefit from the funding.
