Description
The funding program “Assistants in After-School Care Centers” supports legal entities based in Upper Austria (associations, parishes, municipalities) in employing assistants who individually accompany children with special needs in their daily after-school care routine. As a permanent subsidy program, it covers wage costs and thus enables high-quality inclusive care. Payments are made semi-annually in February and October based on electronically submitted payroll statements. This promotes the early involvement of integration staff on the one hand, while ensuring that only those assistant hours previously allocated by the Integration Advisory Service of Caritas Upper Austria are subsidized on the other. The legal basis is provided by the Upper Austrian Child Education and Care Act as well as the Upper Austrian Equal Opportunities Act, which together define the requirements for supporting children with special needs.
To apply, a fully completed online application and a detailed payroll statement via the central online system are required. Eligible for funding are exclusively those legal entities operating after-school care centers that demonstrably care for children with special needs and have obtained approval from the Integration Advisory Service. The measure is specifically aimed at institutions that seek to secure the participation and development of children in after-school care through the deployment of assistants. Regular on-site spot checks ensure that the funds provided are used appropriately. Interested organizations may submit an application at any time without limitation and benefit from continuous financing to strengthen inclusive childcare.
