Description
The ATELIER – Platform for New Art and Choreography in North Rhine-Westphalia offers regionally active artists and cultural practitioners an exceptional framework to present innovative projects in dance, performance, visual arts, music, and new media. Through an open application process, both works in development phases and finished performances are selected. There are no thematic or media restrictions, and the technical requirements are realized in close consultation. PACT Zollverein provides the necessary technical equipment, reimburses travel and accommodation costs, and awards fees to focus on artistic quality and experimentation. Special attention is given to diversity: applications from disabled, chronically ill, neurodivergent, and deaf artists are expressly welcome and actively supported.
The selection is based on the level of innovation, presentation quality, technical feasibility, and the range of artistic positions. Participants have the opportunity to present their works to an international audience in the atmospheric spaces of the former washhouse and receive valuable feedback for further development. Application requirements include a project description, a CV, work samples, and a technical rider. Dates for the open calls and additional information are announced via the PACT newsletter, ensuring interested parties are always informed about upcoming editions. The ATELIER platform combines creative diversity with professional support, thereby strengthening the cultural network in NRW and beyond.
