Description
The Albrecht-Bengel-Haus Foundation offers committed theology students a unique scholarship opportunity in Tübingen starting in the winter semester 2026/27: Studies for pastoral ministry or teaching at the University of Tübingen are complemented by accommodation in a student shared flat as well as comprehensive theological and personal support. In the historic study house in Derendingen, participants find a community of up to 120 “Bengels,” fostering exchange, spiritual growth, and practice-oriented training. The aim of the scholarship is to strengthen emerging theological professionals both academically and spiritually and to introduce them to church and societal practice.
Interested theology students must apply with a complete application package by June 20, 2026, at the latest. Required are: a completed application form with a photograph, a tabular CV, an independent account of the spiritual development (1–3 A4 pages), copies of the high school diploma and, if applicable, language certificates, two references, and a signed declaration of commitment. All documents must be submitted by post or online, observing the formal deadline. Selection is based on the submitted documents and a possible visit appointment at the house, during which insights into the community’s daily life are provided. The Albrecht-Bengel-Haus Foundation thus offers comprehensive academic, spiritual, and interpersonal support for future church leaders.
