Description
The expansion of full-day school forms supports school authorities in Burgenland, Carinthia, Lower Austria, Upper Austria, Salzburg, Vorarlberg, and Vienna in establishing a comprehensive day care offer for compulsory school students. Public and private elementary schools, new middle schools, polytechnic schools, as well as special schools and comparable private schools with public law status are eligible for funding. The goal is to ensure binding day care for 40% of 6- to 15-year-olds or in 85% of general compulsory schools. Investment grants cover both structural and personnel needs, thereby contributing to the improvement of learning, communication, and recreation spaces.
The focus is on infrastructure-related measures such as the creation of communication and regeneration zones, sports and leisure areas, barrier-free access, or cafeteria rooms (up to €55,000 per group), as well as personnel costs for school-based leisure care (max. €9,000 per group/year) and holiday programs (max. €6,500 per group/year). Applications must be submitted by the school authorities through the responsible regional authority. The funding period runs from September 1, 2019, to August 31, 2032. This support not only optimizes spatial equipment but also strengthens pedagogical supervision in full-day schooling.
