Training of Young Organists

The training of young organists is a joint initiative of the Bischof-Moser Foundation and the Office for Church Music in Baden-Württemberg. The program aims to sustainably strengthen the next generation of organists in church communities and thereby ensure the long-term musical accompaniment of worship services. Funding is provided for beginner lessons for young people, especially from families with multiple children and congregations struggling with a shortage of organists. A prerequisite for support is a financial contribution from the church community, underscoring a lasting commitment on site. As a non-profit organization or public institution, this funding opens up new perspectives for educational and cultural work in both rural and urban regions.

Up to €5,000 per year is available as a grant for lesson costs. The funds can be used flexibly for beginner courses, thus providing congregations with financial relief in training new organists. Applications are accepted continuously and at any time, with the application form and implementation regulations required as fundamental documents. The program addresses church communities and non-profit organizations that wish to actively pass on the musical heritage of organ maintenance through targeted financial participation. Interested institutions receive all necessary documents from the Office for Church Music and benefit from straightforward application procedures to quickly integrate young talents into practical training.
