Description
The investment initiative “Excursion Destinations in Carinthia” supports companies, associations, interest groups, and public institutions in innovatively further developing and sustainably strengthening leisure and experience offerings in Carinthia. Measures funded include the expansion or renovation of recreational areas, quality-enhancing refurbishment investments, opportunities to expand weather-independent offerings, digital applications, investments in cycling infrastructure or accessibility, as well as accompanying conceptual and consulting costs. Applicants must demonstrate that their project location is in Carinthia and implement at least one of the mentioned measures. The funding amount covers up to 50% of eligible costs – a maximum of €150,000 – with a minimum investment of €10,000. Non-reimbursable costs include personnel expenses, marketing and operating costs, as well as pure consulting fees without implementation components, costs incurred before application submission, replacement investments, and public levies.
The evaluation focuses on the contribution to the regional tourism strategy, the quality of visitor services, as well as the degree of innovation and ecological sustainability of the project. Additional points are awarded for season extension, suitability for bad weather, and the creation of new jobs. Applications can be submitted electronically at any time from 01.01.2024 onwards to Department 7 – Economy, Tourism and Mobility of the Carinthian State Government. Submission requires a brief project description, a timeline and action plan, as well as a presentation of total costs and the financing concept. The funding runs until revoked and aims to make excursion destinations in Carinthia attractive and future-proof year-round.
