Description

The Brandenburg funding program grants animal keepers in ASF restriction zones II and III a 100% subsidy for all verifiable additional costs incurred due to disease hygiene requirements during pig transports. Funding covers veterinary herd examinations including blood sample collection, travel and consultation, issuance of official certificates, as well as official clearance prior to transport. Furthermore, the increased transport costs to the designated slaughterhouse (€3.40/km, up to €1,600 per transport) and the additional expenses for separate clearance at the slaughterhouse are reimbursed. Payments are made by reimbursement starting from a minimum funding amount of €500. In this way, the State of Brandenburg makes an important contribution to relieving agricultural enterprises that are subject to special restrictions due to African Swine Fever, thereby securing their competitiveness and animal health.

Eligible for funding are companies with an establishment located in the officially designated ASF restriction zones II and III, which already kept pigs at the time of the first outbreak and do not participate in the monitoring program. Applications can be submitted to the State Office for Rural Development, Agriculture and Land Consolidation (LELF) until November 1, 2026. The following documents must be attached: completed application form, invoices and proof of payment for veterinary services, evidence of transport routes and costs, as well as receipts for separate slaughterhouse clearance. Interested enterprises can find the guidelines, application form, and data protection information available for download on the website of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, Environment and Consumer Protection Brandenburg. Timely submission of applications ensures full cost reimbursement and helps to contain the spread risks of ASF.
