Description
The extraordinary support from the Hardship Fund offers non-repayable grants to private school students living in Vienna when school and/or boarding allowances have been denied, resulting in unforeseen financial hardships. Eligible for funding are students from the 9th grade onwards for boarding allowances and from the 10th grade onwards for school allowances, with proven social need or, in exceptional cases, for a justifiable reason (e.g., special regulation for SPF). Applications can be submitted informally in writing no later than the end of the respective school year attended. The funds are paid out directly as a transfer payment and serve to offset additional costs incurred through attending school.
With the aim of strengthening educational and equal opportunity fairness, the Hardship Fund makes an important contribution to the social inclusion of disadvantaged youth. The funding is tailored to the needs of the students and complements existing aid systems in the education sector. The budget is unlimited in duration and ensures continuous support. Interested parties can find comprehensive information on the websites of the Ministry of Education as well as on the Federal Transparency Portal. This grant enables young people to overcome school-related challenges without financial barriers and to sustainably secure their educational success.
