Description

The Klaus Tschira Foundation gGmbH supports nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, and companies nationwide in the development and implementation of innovative extracurricular and informal STEM learning site concepts for children and adolescents aged five to 16 from socio-economically disadvantaged groups. The goal is to establish low-threshold learning environments outside the classroom that promote scientific, mathematical, and information technology competencies and contribute sustainably to equal opportunities. Desired are interactive formats, practical offerings, and cooperation models that equally stimulate curiosity and self-efficacy while addressing current societal and technological challenges.

Projects are supported with a one-time grant over a three-year funding period. Eligible to apply are actors from the extracurricular or informal STEM education sector who can demonstrate their nonprofit status. The application must include: a concise project overview (short application), a clear factsheet, a detailed project outline, a description of the evaluation, and proof of nonprofit status. The first call for proposals begins in 2025, with another submission opportunity available from January 2026. The earliest possible project start date is September 1, 2025. Interested project sponsors can find all information and forms on the Foundation’s website and can expect competent support throughout the application process.
