Exhibitions / Catalogue Funding (Ernst von Siemens Art Foundation)

The Ernst von Siemens Art Foundation supports publicly accessible presentations of art collections and thematic exhibitions in Germany with regional, mostly national or international reach through the Exhibitions / Catalogue Funding program. Funding covers both the direct exhibition costs such as loan fees, insurance, transport, and installation and dismantling, as well as the production costs for high-quality catalogue printing. The objective is to strengthen the mediation of significant artworks, expand accessibility, and enable sustainable documentation in book form. The Foundation grants subsidies without a fixed deadline and adapts to ongoing planning by museums and cultural institutions.

The target recipients of this funding offer are non-profit institutions, including museums, public cultural institutions, and art mediation organizations, that plan an exhibition project and wish to produce an accompanying catalogue. A prerequisite for the grant is the submission of an application in digital form as a PDF according to the funding guidelines, including a cover letter, a description of the exhibition concept with a list of exhibits, a detailed budget plan including own funds and other sponsors, publishing offers for catalogue printing, a table of contents of the catalogue, and a schedule. Once all documents are submitted, the Ernst von Siemens Art Foundation will review and promptly decide on the application.
