Description
Third-country nationals residing in Vienna with a valid residence permit can receive a partial reimbursement of the course fees for certified (German) integration courses at level A2 within the framework of the integration agreement. The funding from the thematic areas of migration, education, training & further education, as well as labor & social affairs, aims to support the linguistic integration of legally settled migrants and promote their active participation in social and professional life. Proof of successful completion of an ÖIF exam at A2 level is required within 18 months of the issuance of the residence permit. For residence permits issued after the Integration Act came into force, a minimum attendance of 75% in the course also applies. This measure makes an important contribution to equal opportunities and sustainably strengthens accessibility in language acquisition.
Up to 50% of the incurred course fees – a maximum of 750 euros per person – are funded. Only natural persons are eligible to apply; the budget is unlimited and the funding has been ongoing indefinitely since January 1, 2013. To apply, the blue federal voucher, a copy of the exam certificate at least at A2 level, and the bank details must be submitted to the Austrian Integration Fund. The processing is carried out by the Integration Section of the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Department V/2, in cooperation with the ÖIF. This direct grant funding not only reduces the financial burden but also ensures comprehensive access to language courses throughout the federal territory of Vienna.
