AWO Hospice and Palliative Care Fund

The AWO Hospice and Palliative Care Fund of the AWO-with-Heart Foundation supports projects in hospices, palliative care services, and elderly care facilities of the AWO District Association Hannover e.V. in Lower Saxony in an uncomplicated and timely manner. The focus is on the individual support of seriously ill and dying people as well as strengthening their relatives. Funding is provided for both material acquisitions such as equipment and furniture as well as daily living aids that directly contribute to improving quality of life. In addition, creative individual offerings for emotional support and relief can be developed to ensure a loving and respectful atmosphere. Funding is granted as a subsidy exclusively to non-profit organizations and public institutions within the mentioned sponsoring association. By providing funds when no official budgets are available, the fund enables quick and tangible assistance where it is most urgently needed.

Interested institutions within the AWO District Association Hannover e.V. may submit applications on an ongoing basis – there is no fixed deadline. Prerequisites are activity in a hospice, palliative care service, or elderly care facility of the district association. Funding priorities include, besides the acquisition of equipment and furniture, individual support services as well as practical daily living aids. The goal is to offer seriously ill and dying people and their relatives additional perspectives and relief. The procedure is deliberately kept simple to make funds quickly available. In this way, the fund supports diverse initiatives to promote palliative care and helps to ensure human dignity and joy of life until the end of life.
