Description
aws i2 Business Angels acts as an independent, neutral online platform for the structured matching of innovative start-ups and financially strong investors throughout Austria. The goal is the efficient, transparent, and free facilitation of contacts to realize equity financings between EUR 100,000 and EUR 1 million. Annually, up to 700 start-up projects are evaluated through a standardized screening process, reaching over 400 active investors, resulting in around 20 value-adding investments. As a connecting service of Austria Wirtschaftsservice (aws), aws i2 Business Angels supports both founding projects with initial paying test customers and established companies in scaling their technology or business model innovations. In addition to sending structured investment summaries, the platform offers co-investment opportunities as well as regular events and pitch sessions to promote personal networking and syndication possibilities.
Eligible to participate are start-ups and companies with headquarters or operations in Austria, whose product or service is ideally already available on the market and which demonstrate a clearly identifiable unique selling proposition as well as an addressable market opportunity. Investors such as business angels, family offices, and seed funds with minimum ticket sizes from EUR 50,000 benefit from a pre-selected deal flow and exclusive networking formats. Registration via the aws Connect platform is possible at any time and free of charge (investors pay an annual fee of EUR 90). Prerequisites for application are a completed aws Connect profile, submission of an investment summary, and optionally a pitch deck or video. The matching process begins after positive review and runs continuously until December 31, 2025 – feedback is usually provided within 14 days.
