Description

Azubi Kolleg is a free, one-year workshop program by the Joachim Herz Foundation for apprentices in Hamburg, Lübeck, and Schleswig-Holstein. Over a funding period of 18 months, personal, social, and digital skills are developed through three five-day seminar blocks as well as monthly networking meetings. Participants receive practical impulses on self-confidence, stress management, and confident presentation as well as on digital media usage, AI tools, and agile methods. Interactive formats such as team development activities promote exchange and open up new perspectives for everyday professional life. A ceremonial certificate presentation completes the program and enables sustainable support in the company and vocational school.

Funding is provided for apprentices in dual, nursing, or full-time school-based training programs in their first year (or second year if starting in spring), up to a maximum age of 27, with the consent of the training company and vocational school, as well as residence or training location in the specified regions. Selection is based on the motivation of the applicants and an assessment through letters of recommendation. Application documents include personal data, information about the training, a release confirmation from the vocational school teacher, as well as a letter of recommendation together with a release declaration from the company. The application deadline usually runs from December to March. Azubi Kolleg connects up to 75 apprentices per cohort in an engaged network and prepares them optimally for the demands of an increasingly digital working world.
