Description
Basic and Project Funding in the Cultural and Scientific Sector in Carinthia provides an open-ended framework for the financial support of artistic and scientific undertakings. Individuals, non-profit organizations, companies, cooperatives, foundations, public institutions, start-ups, interest groups, and associations can realize projects or secure annual programs in the funding areas of Visual Arts & Design, Music, Performing Arts, Literature, Photography, Film, Folk Culture, and Science. Flexible submission deadlines allow applications to be submitted online at any time. Eligible costs include personnel expenses, material and travel costs, fees, rents, equipment, printing and event costs, as well as digitization expenses. Property acquisitions, costs incurred before application submission, debt settlement, and non-culture-specific administrative costs are not eligible for funding. Approval is granted as a subsidy in accordance with the Carinthian Cultural Funding Act 2001 and does not establish any legal entitlement. Income from other funding sources must be coordinated; upon approval, the use of the cultural logo is mandatory.
The decision is based on formal completeness and substantive evaluation: innovation content, artistic quality, cost-effectiveness, relevance to the target group, and sustainability constitute the central assessment criteria. For the application, a project description, a detailed financing plan, and the fully completed funding application form are required; furthermore, §§ 3–5 of the K-KFördG must be complied with and coordination with other funders must be demonstrated. Department 14 – Art and Culture of the Carinthian State Government supports interested parties in this process and answers questions regarding submission and procedure. This continuous funding opportunity provides planning security for innovative projects and thus sustainably strengthens cultural and scientific life in Carinthia.
