Description
This grant program of the State of Burgenland, designed as a subsidy, is aimed at non-profit children’s and youth organizations that conduct youth work actively in at least four regional districts and affirm their commitment to the democratic Republic of Austria. The program is exclusively open to associations, interest groups, and other non-profit entities based in Burgenland and supports activities in the areas of children and youth, social cohesion and democracy, education, work & social affairs, as well as training and further education. With an annual budget of approximately 0.1 million euros, non-repayable funds are provided as basic support. Applications can be submitted continuously via an online funding application; the submission deadline is February 1 of the following year, with the application phase starting on January 1, 2024. The funding amount is determined by a points system that takes into account membership numbers, event scope, and compliance with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Requirements for a successful application include commitment to the democratic Republic of Austria, compliance with the European Convention on Human Rights, an open membership policy for Austrian citizens, and verifiable activity in at least four regional districts. Eligible expenses include all organizational costs such as internal retreats, administrative expenses, or general meetings. Evaluation is based on membership numbers, the number of activities, and alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals, for example poverty reduction, environmental protection, and promotion of democracy. The online form must be accompanied by an activity report, which also serves as proof of use, as well as a current excerpt from the association register. Ongoing funding applications allow for flexible budget planning.
