The funding instrument covers all technologies and research topics and supports projects with a volume of up to €3 million. Funding is provided in annual increments (max. 12 months) with a grant rate of up to 70%, scaled according to company size and bonus mechanisms for cooperation with other companies or scientific partners. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), start-ups, as well as large companies can submit applications continuously and benefit from increased support, provided they pursue strategic innovation goals and demonstrate commercialization opportunities for their research results.
Eligible expenses include third-party costs, costs for equipment usage, material and consumable costs, personnel costs, and travel expenses. Essential prerequisites are co-financing by the company and precise cost documentation regarding the project-related use of funds. Required documents include a detailed project description, a financing plan, a business plan, and CVs of the key personnel involved. Submission is possible at any time until December 31, 2025, 11:00 a.m. via the FFG’s electronic eCall system, enabling flexible planning. Through its open orientation, the program promotes sustainable innovation activities and strengthens competitiveness in the national and international markets.
