Description

Since 2021, the Bavarian-Czech School Partnership has been promoting mutual exchange projects between Bavarian middle, secondary, special, and vocational schools and their partner schools in the Czech Republic with funds from the Foundation for the Promotion of International Youth Exchange in Bavaria. As an ongoing grant program, it allows applications at any time and is exclusively aimed at public educational institutions. Under the thematic focus Education and Vocational & Further Training, encounters are supported that deepen intercultural dialogue and impart important social skills to the participants. Through close cooperation with the Coordination Center for German-Czech Youth Exchange Tandem, the participating schools receive professional support in planning and implementing the projects.

The funding objective is to strengthen understanding of the neighboring country’s culture, broaden the horizons of young people, and initiate sustainable learning processes. Eligible applicants are exclusively Bavarian middle, secondary, special, or vocational schools with a proven partnership with a Czech educational institution. The funding offers all students from both countries the opportunity to deepen language skills in joint projects, build cross-border networks, and contribute to European cohesion in the long term. With a budget of €30 million over ten years, the foundation makes an important contribution to developing young people in the Free State into confident, open-minded citizens.
