Description
The Foundation for the Promotion of International Youth Exchange in Bavaria, together with the Coordination Center for German-Czech Youth Exchange Tandem, supports projects for mutual exchange between Bavarian middle, secondary, special, and vocational schools and partner schools in the Czech Republic. The aim of this initiative is to promote international understanding and strengthen European cohesion through personal encounters. Participants acquire intercultural competencies, discover cultural similarities and differences, and develop important social skills. Through project work in both countries, not only language skills are deepened, but respect and mutual understanding are sustainably strengthened.
Funding Requirements: Eligible to apply are public and municipal schools as well as state-recognized or approved private schools in Bavaria. The program finances up to 80% of eligible costs, up to a maximum of €10,000. Funded expenses include, among others, program costs, travel and accommodation expenses, catering costs, fees for speakers and interpreters, as well as organizational meetings of teaching staff. Travel costs of the Czech partner school to Germany, expenses for existing infrastructure, alcohol, tips, and gifts are not eligible for funding. Applications can be submitted from 01/01/2026 and must be received by Tandem no later than eight weeks before the start of the measure. The application requires a detailed project description, a cost and financing plan, a program schedule, and a list of participants. This program is aimed at teachers and school project coordinators who wish to initiate and implement international encounters with the Czech Republic.
