Description
The funding measure in Styria includes autism-specific diagnostics (performance and personality diagnostics) as well as therapeutic interventions to support autistic children, adolescents, and adults. Behavioral therapy, involvement therapy, and multifunctional support therapy form the core offering, supplemented by intensive parent and networking work as well as a regular intensive week. Through systematic training of parents, early intervention specialists, and family relief workers, a sustainable network is created that ensures ongoing care. The chosen measures are based on current standards and the individual developmental needs of the participants.
The funding objective is to establish a suitable environment for building, promoting, and securing the quality of life of autistic individuals. As a grant program, it targets companies, non-profit organizations, public institutions, and private individuals implementing measures in the fields of health, social affairs, and work & social services. A prerequisite for funding is a diagnostically confirmed therapy indication according to ICD or DSM-IV with qualitative impairments in social integration and communication as well as restricted, repetitive, and stereotyped behavior patterns. Thanks to the continuous submission possibility since 12.11.2013, the funding conditions offer long-term planning and implementation security for all involved actors in the health and social sectors.
