Description
The support enables the professional recovery of injured or deceased cattle in hard-to-reach areas of Vorarlberg using a helicopter. Funding is provided on the one hand for the live recovery of injured animals to a specific location where further transport by vehicle is possible, but at most up to the helicopter take-off site. On the other hand, the funding covers the recovery of deceased cattle to a point suitable for animal carcass disposal vehicles, also up to the take-off site at most. This measure serves both animal welfare and veterinary safety and avoids complex and risky vehicle transports in difficult terrain.
Interested parties are animal owners and agricultural enterprises in Vorarlberg who cannot provide veterinary care on the alpine pastures and for whom ground transport would be unreasonable. A positive decision requires that on-site disposal is prohibited for veterinary reasons and that the recovery actually takes place within the state of Vorarlberg. Applications can be submitted at any time once all conditions are met. An informal funding application is to be submitted to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Areas of the Office of the Vorarlberg State Government. The funding is granted as a non-repayable grant and is available indefinitely.
