Contributions to the Procurement and Maintenance of Breeding Animals

The city of Villach supports agricultural and forestry enterprises with contributions for the replacement and proper keeping of breeding animals. All expenses for market-standard acquisition costs of breeding animals as well as ongoing costs related to their keeping are eligible for funding. The goal is to secure and continuously build a healthy breeding stock with special consideration of animal health, animal welfare, and sustainable management. Eligible applicants are natural or legal persons or partnerships with a business location in the city of Villach; this includes, in addition to agricultural and forestry enterprises, cooperatives, associations, machinery communities, as well as non-profit organizations and public institutions. The funding is provided as a non-repayable grant and is available indefinitely; applications may be submitted continuously until March 31 of the following year.

A prerequisite for a funding commitment is a positive resolution by the Committee for Agriculture and Forestry as well as budgetary coverage in the city of Villach’s budget. For each application, the fully completed application form for breeding animal funding and the committee resolution must be submitted. The grant covers both acquisition costs for breeding animals and keeping costs. A comprehensive accounting with original receipts must be submitted upon completion of the measure. Through this targeted support, the city of Villach contributes to achieving agricultural policy objectives, strengthens the regional breeding base, and promotes responsible use of animal resources in rural areas.
