Berlin Program for Sustainable Development (BENE 2)

The Berlin Program for Sustainable Development (BENE 2) continuously supports civil society and municipal initiatives that implement innovative projects in the capital city in the fields of environmental and climate protection as well as education for sustainable development. Eligible recipients are public institutions, non-profit organizations, interest groups, or associations seeking to strengthen their commitment to sustainable urban development through financial grants. The program managers at the Senate Department for the Environment, Mobility, Consumer Protection, and Climate work closely with B.&S.U. Consulting and Service Company for the Environment mbH as the operational partner. This expertise ensures that applicants receive targeted tools, methods, and funding guidelines to effectively support projects from conception through implementation.

Interested actors from Berlin can submit applications on an ongoing basis, ensuring flexibility in project planning. Funded measures include those that increase energy efficiency, establish sustainable educational offerings, or implement nature conservation measures in local neighborhoods. The funding pool is aimed at associations, interest groups, municipal institutions, and other organizations that wish to contribute to the dissemination of sustainable practices.
