Description

The initiative supports international projects of vocational schools in Bavaria through targeted start-up and interim financing. Public and educational institutions such as vocational schools, technical schools, business schools, technical academies, vocational high schools (FOS), and technical secondary schools (BOS) can continuously apply for grants for innovative, interdisciplinary internationalization measures. The goal is to enable trainees to acquire intercultural competencies and practical international experience. This includes, for example, joint projects with partner organizations in countries outside the Erasmus+ accreditation or short internships that complement the EU education program ERASMUS+. The funded measures range from subject-specific networking concepts to the development of sustainable solutions in areas such as robotics, artificial intelligence, or ecological agriculture.

For a project to be successfully supported, it must last at least five days, offer an innovative added value, and be embedded in the existing international exchange strategy. At least one participating school should already have ERASMUS+ experience. Selection is based on criteria such as the degree of innovation, suitability of partner selection, public impact of project results, as well as sustainability and network development. Applications can be submitted at any time, with the Foundation for the Promotion of International Youth Exchange in Bavaria providing the funding. With a budget of 30 million euros over ten years, it strengthens the international networking of vocational education institutions and promotes long-term cooperation that offers young people profound insights into global work and learning environments.
