Special Assistance and Rescue Services

The basic funding is aimed at non-profit organizations, interest groups, or associations in Carinthia that operate as recognized aid and rescue services according to the Carinthian Rescue Service Funding Act (K-RFG). Funding is provided for operations in alpine terrain (mountain rescue), in water (water rescue), in caves (cave rescue), as well as search operations with rescue dog units. The goal of the support is to save lives, provide first aid, and to quickly care for, recover, and bring to safety missing or endangered persons. Through targeted grants, equipment, training, and operational procedures are sustainably strengthened to meet the diverse challenges of disaster protection.

Eligible for funding are all units listed in the K-RFG as special aid and rescue services. Applications can be submitted continuously, ensuring timely financing of ongoing expenses and necessary acquisitions. Approval requires proof of status as a recognized aid or rescue service according to the provisions of the K-RFG. This continuous funding mechanism provides organizations with the necessary planning security to permanently ensure readiness and professionalism. Interested units can submit a funding application at any time, thereby actively contributing to strengthening disaster protection and the safety of the population in Carinthia.
