Principles of Participation of IBG Beteiligungsgesellschaft Sachsen-Anhalt mbH – Silent Partnerships (No Aid)

Technology-oriented small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Saxony-Anhalt secure their equity capital base with this financing option and specifically enable research, development, and market launch projects. Up to EUR 5 million can be provided as silent participation to realize prototype construction, pilot and demonstration projects, adaptation developments, as well as market entry and growth financing. A prerequisite is a qualified, project-related business plan with a detailed investment, cost, and financing plan, as well as proof of independent research or the use of new technologies. Applicants must have their company headquarters and an operational site in Saxony-Anhalt, meet the SME status according to the EU definition, and must not be considered companies in difficulty. The evaluation particularly focuses on the level of innovation, market opportunities, and technology orientation of the project.

The duration of the participation is up to ten years with the possibility of an extension for a further five years. The conditions consist of a fixed semi-annual fee based on the credit risk rating and a profit-dependent remuneration. As additional security, guarantees or sureties by the shareholders amounting to at least 10% up to a maximum of 30% of the invested capital are required. Applications can be submitted continuously as long as the respective participation principles are valid. Required documents include the completed application form of the IBG as well as the comprehensive business plan. This measure offers technology-oriented founders and high-growth SMEs the opportunity to strengthen their innovation and competitiveness in the long term and successfully open up new markets.
