Description

In Styria, the funding program Assisted Living in Crisis Situations offers non-profit private child and youth welfare institutions the opportunity to temporarily accommodate male and female adolescents aged 15–18 in acute emergencies. A subsidy covers accommodation costs as well as hourly mobile care provided by trained professionals. This creates initial relief for the psychosocial situation and reduces acute stress symptoms. A prerequisite for funding is an official approval of the institution as well as a valid written service contract with the Styrian State Government. Applications can be submitted continuously and at any time since October 31, 2013, with a maximum project duration of three months.

The purpose of the funding is the short-term accommodation of those adolescents whose well-being can no longer be guaranteed within the existing care system or who need to be temporarily supported elsewhere. The focus is on assessing individual care needs as well as promoting self-sufficiency (shopping, cooking, washing, etc.). By combining secure housing provision with flexible, mobile care, stable conditions are created that strengthen independence and pave the way for further support measures. The program contributes to the fields of social affairs, children and youth, as well as labor and social affairs, and provides a legally secure, practice-oriented financing basis for non-profit organizations in Styria.
