Description
Care Contribution in the "Contribution-Free Kindergarten" Model supports children in Vienna aged 0 to 6 years and their parents or legal guardians by partially compensating the parental contribution for private early childhood education institutions. Funding covers the costs for general educational and care services, scaled according to age (0–3 years, 3–6 years) and care duration (minimum 16 hours per week). Eligible for funding are non-profit organizations, private individuals, and companies operating an officially approved private institution and having a valid funding agreement with the City of Vienna – MA 10. The primary residence of the child and at least one parent must be proven to be in Vienna. Applications can be submitted continuously from September 1, 2009; there is no upper limit on the funding volume.
Required documents for application include, among others: funding agreement, approval notice for operation, monthly performance report, annual accounting, registration confirmation as proof of primary residence, and customer number of the City of Vienna (database entry). Expenses for meals and voluntary additional services without legal basis are excluded from funding. Payments are made up to twelve times annually directly to the sponsoring organizations or – for care outside Vienna – upon submission of proof of service to the legal guardians. The funds must be used for the intended purpose and documented in orderly accounting records. Repayments may be required in case of violations of the funding guidelines or incomplete information.
