Description
Since January 1, 2024, the City of Graz has been supporting private and non-profit providers of nurseries, kindergartens, and after-school care centers within the framework of the uniform municipal tariff system. Subsidies for operating, personnel, and location costs ensure tariff parity with public institutions and guarantee families free choice options. The funding, provided as a direct subsidy, can be applied for continuously. For the care year 2026/27, the call for inclusion in the municipal tariff system is open from September 18, 2025, to October 1, 2025.
Eligible participants are providers with a concluded cooperation agreement and a valid operating license who employ qualified professional and auxiliary staff in accordance with StKBBG 2019. Eligible expenses include personnel costs, material, catering, location, and administrative costs. Selection is based on criteria such as campus suitability, expansion of existing groups, good public transport connections, spatial demand forecasts, and the feasibility of a construction project. A prerequisite for funding allocation is the monthly submission of a child list, adherence to economic principles, and coordinated public relations work with the Department of Education and Integration. Applications must be submitted via the City of Graz’s digital form.
