Description
The state of Salzburg enables the continuous acquisition of contemporary artworks in the fields of drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, object art, and ceramics for the state collection. The aim of this funding initiative is to permanently document and preserve current and innovative positions in visual arts with a Salzburg connection. An independent jury selects works based on strict quality criteria that set pioneering impulses in technique, form, and expression. Artists born in Salzburg or with at least five years of residence there can digitally submit their works at any time; deadlines are determined by the respective current call for submissions, valid since 01.10.2013 without time limitation.
Professional artists may submit up to three works (a closed series counts as one work) via the digital submission form. Required are a brief biography including email and phone number, digitized photos or high-quality digital prints, as well as detailed information on title, year of creation, technique, format, and price of the works. Funding is provided at 100% through purchase price coverage, provided that no works have been acquired for the state collection in the past three years. The process is entirely digital, allowing for an efficient application procedure. Interested artists thus have the opportunity to present their works to a renowned institution and become part of Salzburg’s cultural heritage.
