The Educational Projects – Foundation for Remembrance and Peace enable nationwide funded initiatives for historical education and the promotion of democracy. Non-profit organizations, interest groups, associations, as well as educational institutions recognized as providers of political adult education or youth welfare, can apply for grants. Funded measures are content-focused and engage intensively with German and European history, conveying key lessons from war and tyranny. The goal is to combine remembrance work, reflection, and social engagement to make a sustainable contribution to peaceful coexistence.

Projects are supported as grants without a fixed submission deadline, allowing applicants to submit their concepts at any time. In addition to the thematic focus on historical experience, organizational prerequisites are considered: formal recognition as a provider of political adult education or youth welfare is mandatory, as is proof of a strong connection to German or European history. Funded initiatives range from workshops and lecture series to interactive exhibitions or digital formats that address both young and older target groups. Through the continuous allocation of these funds, space is created for diverse educational approaches that strengthen awareness of democratic values and promote social cohesion.
