Description
The educational trips and seminars of the Heinrich Böll Foundation Schleswig-Holstein e.V. open up new perspectives on the European neighboring regions for those interested in politics and culture. Participants can experience subsidized study and educational vacations in small groups of 14 to 24 people in Eastern Europe (including Georgia, Armenia, Transylvania, and Moldova), Hungary, Denmark, and other destinations. The travel programs combine on-site excursions, expert discussions, and workshops on current societal challenges and are recognized as educational leave in Berlin, Hamburg, North Rhine-Westphalia, Schleswig-Holstein, and Thuringia. Additionally, online seminars on topics such as discrimination-sensitive language, digital storytelling, or civic engagement enrich the offering and enable flexible learning with certification in various federal states.
Ongoing registrations are aimed at adult private individuals, especially young professionals, students, and all those wishing to deepen their political education abroad in Europe. Applications are submitted via the completed registration form, which specifies deadlines depending on the trip (e.g., 10.02.2026 for Georgia, 15.03.2026 for Budapest, 28.02.2026 for Copenhagen). The flat-rate fees cover accommodation, meals, transfers, and program components; single room supplements, discounts for low-income individuals, and reduced rates for those under 30 are offered. The funding objective is to strengthen political education and intercultural exchange in order to sustainably promote democratic action at the local and international levels.
