Description
Since 2021, the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania has been supporting founders and successors with funds from the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) in preparing for professional self-employment. Education vouchers cover up to 80 % of the costs for basic business qualifications (max. 436 EUR per course) and consulting and support services (max. 556 EUR per day). The funding extends to a total of 48 teaching hours for basic courses as well as up to two full days for consulting services and can be utilized within ongoing application procedures in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Qualification measures at recognized educational service providers and modular support by experienced experts are specifically tailored to individual start-up or succession concepts.
Prerequisites for approval include the main residence as well as the planned business location within the funding area, a draft of the business plan, documentation of the qualification and consulting needs in a consultation with the responsible Chamber of Industry and Commerce or Chamber of Crafts, as well as a positive endorsement from these institutions. Education vouchers are valid for six months and, upon approval, are assigned to the educational service providers who handle the billing with the Society for Structural and Labor Market Development (GSA). Eligible expenses include course fees for basic business qualifications and accompanying consulting services; for innovative technology-oriented projects, additional days for patent or copyright topics can be requested. A valid identity card and, if applicable, a form for business succession must be submitted as proof to sustainably support the path to self-employment.
